Merlo is now accepting applications for the 2013-2014 school year. There are a limited number of spots in each grade, interested students should submit applications right away. Applications can be picked up in the school office!
The Edward C Merlo Institute of Environmental Technology prepares students for success in their post-secondary endeavors. This is accomplished by providing all students with the academic, technological, and career education necessary for success in the next life level. Furthermore, students are provided with models and tools to assist them develop responsible personal behavior as they move toward becoming contributing members of society.
As part of a SkillsUSA project, a group of Merlo students worked with the San Joaquin County Public Works Division to create this map. The map shows locations people can go to turn in old medications as part of the annual DEA Drug Take Back. This is one example of Merlo students using Geospatial Technologies.

September 11, 2012 - Students at the Merlo Institute of Environmental Technology participated in the Recycling Summit held in Stockton on September 11, 2012. Merlo Institute students continue to be involved in the communit, especially in the areas concerned with environmental and technological areas. Only two schools from Stockton were represented, Merlo Institute and Bear Creek. Our students did a great job representing their school and the SkillsUSA program. Last year 21 students won gold medals and went to the state competition in San Diego and 10 went further to Kansas City. Merlo is trying to incorporate the environment as part of the pathway to learning about careers and college preparation.
